What is Heart Failure?

Heart failure is a condition in which your heart cannot pump enough oxygenated blood to meet the needs of your body’s other organs. This in turn causes increased pressure on your heart and is physically, emotionally and financially draining.

A New Tool in Heart Failure Care

CardioMEMS™ Heart Failure System is a game changer in treating your heart failure, helping reduce the number of your hospital stays up to 43 percent.

The heart failure monitor system features a sensor, placed in your heart’s pulmonary artery (PA). It wirelessly measures and monitors your PA pressure and heart rate daily, sending the data electronically to Sanford’s heart failure experts.

With the correct monitoring and medication management, you will experience:

  • Fewer hospitalizations
  • Longer life
  • More energy and increased activity
  • Easier to breathe
  • Less swelling
