Classroom support services assist you in promoting the health, safety and development of young children. These services provide opportunities to gain knowledge on various topics as well as assistance with putting that knowledge into practice in your classroom.

Activities & Lesson Planning 
  • Technical Assistance. Need to spruce up your lesson planning or want some activity ideas to encourage children's learning and development? We're here to help. *May Qualify for Licensing Credit
  • fitCare Group Time. Group time activities based on the fitCare curriculum that teaches children how to make healthy lifestyle choices. CHILD Services leads a group time activity and provides you with ideas on how to incorporate fit activities into your lesson planning.
Behavior & Development 
  • Technical Assistance. Assistance on effective ways to promote young children's social and emotional development and reduce challenging behaviors. *May Qualify for Licensing Credit
  • South Dakota Early Learning Guidelines. Explore the South Dakota Early Learning Guidelines. Learn about establishing developmental goals to encourage the development and learning of the children in your care.
  • Best Practices Series (Infant/Toddler & Preschool). Advanced classes that explore teaching and learning methods that have been proven to work to encourage children's' learning and development.
Classroom Environment 
  • Technical Assistance. Assistance in creating a safe, responsive and engaging classroom environment. Get ideas on room arrangements or taming transition time chaos. *May Qualify for Licensing Credit
Health & Well-being
  • Technical Assistance. Help combat childhood obesity by teaching the children in your care skills to make healthy lifestyle choices. Receive tools and tips to teach children how to increase physical activity, make healthy food choices and manage their feelings. Based on the fitCare curriculum. *May Qualify for Licensing Credit
  • fitCare Classes. Provides caregivers with the knowledge and activities to teach children about making healthy choices.
  • fit Family Night. A fun event of interactive games and activities to encourage families and you to partner together to teach children about making healthy choices. CHILD Services provides support, activity ideas and take home activity handouts for children. Activities and handouts based on the fitCare curriculum. *May Qualify for Licensing Credit
  • fitCare Group Time. Group time activities based on the fitCare curriculum that teaches children how to make healthy lifestyle choices. CHILD Services leads a group time activity and provides you with ideas on how to incorporate fit activities into your lesson planning.
Nutrition
  • Technical Assistance. We provide assistance in teaching the children in your care to make healthy food choices. Receive fun nutrition activities to add to your lesson plan toolbox. Based on the fitCare curriculum. *May Qualify for Licensing Credit

Parent Partnership
  • Teaming Up with Families. Parent partnerships are essential to your program's success. Child Services provides you support to team up with your families through these service offerings; parent classes, parent handouts, bulletin board flyers and parent night events. Ask us how you can increase your parent engagement.
Safety
  • Technical Assistance. Want to know more about implementing safe sleep practices in your program? Want assistance in ensuring your program is following safety best practices? We're here to help. *May Qualify for Licensing Credit
  • Safety Group Time. Teaches children how to travel safely in the car and why buckling up is important. Child Services leads a group time activity and provides ideas on how to incorporate car seat education into your lesson planning.
  • Car Seat Parent Event. Nine out of 10 car seats are installed incorrectly. Hold an event at your facility so parents can receive car seat education and/or a car seat inspection to make sure the children in your care are traveling safely.
