Using the latest knowledge

In addition to surgical expertise and a team approach, Sanford's Weight Loss Surgery Program emphasizes clinical research. Through Sanford's relationship with the Neuropsychiatric Research Institute, our program is one of only six clinical centers in the United States selected by the National Institutes of Health to participate in a bariatric research study known as LABS – short for Longitudinal Assessment of Bariatric Surgery.

This study brings together experts in weight-loss surgery, obesity research, internal medicine and other related fields to analyze the risks and benefits of weight-loss surgery and its impact on patients' health and quality of life and to identify which patients would most likely benefit from weight-loss surgery.

If you are interested in participating in this study, please let us know by calling (701) 365-4945.
