Idea of Care

It is my attention to detail and intense care for all the needs of the patient – from the micro-preemie in the NICU to the multi-system teenage trauma patient in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit – that defines my dedication to my patients and the practice of pediatric surgery.

With a team of subspecialists, we can all work together to provide optimal care for the children of North Dakota.

Relating to both the child and the parents is important to us, as the patient is not the only person under our care.  We hope to make the entire family feel at ease during the stressful time when a child needs to be in the hospital due to trauma, injury or the need for surgery.

Personal Interests

Dr. Askegard enjoys music, theatre, movies, and curling up with a good book. She has three wonderful children and an active dog who keep her very busy outside of work. Dr. Askegard loves hiking and traveling with her kids, exploring national parks and other national treasures.
