A Specialist in Children’s Diabetes Care
Dr. Brenda Thurlow specializes in the health needs of infants, children and adolescents. This includes monitoring their growth and development, and diagnosing and treating diseases. She also specializes in diabetes management in this age group.
She provides well child care, acute childhood illness treatment and general pediatric preventive health care; general primary care including obtaining a patient's medical history; performing physical exams; ordering, performing and interpreting lab and diagnostic tests; prescribing medications; treating common illnesses; health education and counseling. She also helps patients manage diabetes, including using technology such as insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors.
She also serves as medical director, American Diabetes Association Camp Sioux; chapter breastfeeding coordinator and CATCH facilitator for the North Dakota Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics; assistant professor of medicine at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
