An Internal Medicine Specialist Caring for Hospitalized Patients
Dr. Matthew Jahraus provides general medical care to patients during their hospital stay. As a board-certified internal medicine specialist, Dr. Jahraus works in a similar role to a primary care physician but in a hospital setting. He coordinates his patients’ care with their primary care providers and other specialists to deliver the highest level of care possible.
His services include:
- Obtaining a patient’s medical history
- Performing physical exams
- Ordering and interpreting lab and diagnostic tests
- Prescribing medications
- Treating common illnesses
- Providing health education and counseling
Dr. Jahraus also serves as a clinical associate professor of medicine at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine.
