Dr. Mistry is a fully-trained general surgeon with specialization in the fields of transplantation and critical care/trauma. Abdominal transplant surgery is his main area of clinical practice. He participates in pre-transplant evaluation of patients and management of transplant recipients during the post-operative period. Dr. Mistry performs both living and cadaveric donor transplants. He is also trained in complex hepatobiliary, pancreatic and dialysis access surgery. On Oct. 27, 2003, Dr. Mistry performed a minimally invasive kidney removal in preparation for transplant in a live, surgical Webcast.
Dr. Mistry is married and has two children. His wife is also a physician. In his spare time, he enjoys reading and traveling.
