Melissa Babcook, MD, PhD, has extensive experience in hematology and oncology, including malignant hematology, hematopoietic stem cell transplant and cellular therapy. She treats cancers affecting the blood, bone marrow, lymphatic and immune systems.
Dr. Babcook treats the following conditions:
- Acute and chronic leukemia
- Aplastic anemia
- Bone marrow failure syndromes
- Hodgkin lymphoma
- B-cell and T-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma
- Multiple myeloma
- Myelodysplastic syndrome
- Myeloproliferative neoplasm, including myelofibrosis, polycythemia vera and essential thrombocytopenia

Dr. Babcook is an associate professor at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences. She serves as an educator and mentor for the UND Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship at Sanford Health Fargo. She is also the lead
investigator for Sanford Health Fargo’s Phase 1 clinical trial program.
