I aim to deliver exceptional whole-person, patient-centered care. As a trained palliative care doctor, my role is to ease my patients’ suffering, both physical and psychosocial, as they deal with a life-limiting illness. Respect for a patient’s autonomy is of utmost importance to me, and I act as their advocate as they navigate the health care system.

Personal Interests

Dr. Fortuno enjoys tennis, volleyball, hiking, backpacking and trying hole-in-the-wall restaurants. His personal academic interests include end-of-life issues, high-value care, social justice and minority health care, including LGBTQ+ care.
