Idea of Care

My idea of care starts and ends with putting the patient first. Being a trauma and acute care surgeon often means I am introduced to my patients at an unexpected point in their lives. I always strive to do right and let the rest follow.

I believe in the autonomy of the patient as an individual. I place a strong emphasis on explaining injuries, conditions and the patient’s options. Through education, the patient and their family have the best opportunity to make an informed decision.

Lastly, I strive to be helpful to my patients, colleagues and community.

Personal Interests

Growing up in Rapid City gave me a great appreciation for South Dakota and the abundance of outdoor activities it provides. I enjoy hunting, skiing, hiking and adventuring.

My greatest joy is spending time with my wife and two children. We recently relocated from Florida to enjoy more of life together.
