Specialized Care for Urologic Conditions

We diagnose and treat conditions of the kidneys, bladder, ureters and urethra in infants, children and young adults. Our services include surgical and non-surgical treatments.

Schedule an appointment with your child’s primary care provider if your child experiences discomfort while going to the bathroom. Your pediatrician may then refer you to a specialist for pediatric urology care.

Our urologists diagnose and treat:

• Urinary tract infections: An infection affecting any part of the urinary tract system. It may cause an increased urge to urinate, pain while urinating and a fever.

• Hypospadias: A congenital condition in boys where the urethra opening is in the wrong place. It requires surgical correction.

• Vesicoureteral reflux (VUR): A disorder where urine goes the wrong way so that it flows back into the kidneys.

• Enuresis: Commonly known as bedwetting, your children’s urology specialist will need to identify the cause of your child’s loss of bladder control at night to correct it.

• Hydronephrosis: An obstruction is blocking the ureter, causing a backup of urine to the kidney. Because of this blockage, children may have difficulty urinating and feel pain in the abdomen.

• Ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) obstructions: A blockage in the kidneys that prevents the flow of urine out of the organs. Severe cases need surgery to get rid of the blockage.
