Vanessa Smith is a physician assistant who specializes in orthopedics.

She works with Dr. Robert Van Demark Jr. but will frequently help other providers of the hand team. She provides workshops on splinting and casting for providers outside of orthopedics interested in one-on-one practice.
She completed the required rotations and chose elective rotations in orthopedics and also international medicine completing a four-week rotation in Punta Gorda, Belize. Upon graduation from physician assistant school, she worked with an outstanding hand surgeon in St Paul, Minnesota, for several years before joining the team at Sanford Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.
