Idea of Care

Developing relationships with patients, looking for the root cause of symptoms and helping patients work toward an optimal state of health are the things I most enjoy about being a nurse practitioner. I appreciate being able to provide holistic care by combining traditional Western medicine with functional medical principles. I believe this approach allows for optimal health.

Personal Interests

Katie grew up in central Iowa and met her husband Zak while she was finishing her undergraduate nursing degree. They spent 21 years living across the United States and finally settled in Rapid City in 2020 when Zak retired from the Army. They have three children who keep them busy. As a family, they enjoy traveling, skiing, snowboarding, hiking, watching Iowa State University athletics and spending time with their Newfoundland dogs, Rey and Ziggy.
