A Specialist in Pediatric Ophthalmology
Hayley Klein, MD, is a pediatric ophthalmologist and a specialist in children’s eye care and eye surgery.
She evaluates and treats all pediatric eye conditions, including:
- Amblyopia (lazy eye)
- Failed vision screens
- Glasses checks
- Nasolacrimal duct obstructions
- Poor vision
- Ptosis (drooping eyelid)
- Retinopathy of prematurity (abnormal blood vessel growth in the retina)
- Strabismus (misalignment of the eyes)
She also specializes in screening special-needs children for eye conditions, including children with autism, developmental delays and genetic disorders.
Dr. Klein is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine.
She and Dr. Geoffrey Tufty are the region’s only fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologists.
