Labor Skills Workshop
NOTICE: Sanford Women's is committed to providing a safe environment for you to enjoy our classes. In order to do that, the following measures are being taken:
- Providing masks (as needed) to attendees
- Allowing ample time between classes to properly sanitize the room and equipment
- Continuing to offer online options for patients who are unable or uncomfortable attending an in-person class
This workshop offers hands-on practice in pain management for labor and delivery. Learn positions for comfort and for pushing. Practice imagery, massage and relaxation. Learn More.
When is the class? Typically held in-person once per month from 6:30 - 9 p.m.
Who attends? Moms and their support person are all encouraged to attend. The knowledge and support of those around the mother and child significantly impact the success and satisfaction of the birthing process.
When should moms plan to attend during their pregnancy? Ideally, towards the end of your pregnancy but any time after 28 weeks is preferable.
What do I bring? Something to write with and a small snack or beverage, if desired. During class you will practice labor positions. Dress in clothes that allow you to squat, bend, and get on the floor.
