Abrea Roark, MD

Dr. Abrea Roark loves the diversity of the OB/GYN specialty, but her personal history also played a part in steering her toward the field. When she was nine, her mom had an infant loss. This experience made Dr. Roark ask what she could do with medicine for similar situations. Her view is that if there’s anything she can do to change that outcome for even one family, then it would make a difference. She also loves that she gets to be a caretaker for women through all stages of their lives. She likes seeing teenagers for any issues they’re having and then getting to be a part of special moments during deliveries. Dr. Roark also enjoys taking care of women through menopause and their aging years. During prenatal care visits, she’ll help patients get through the craziness of having a baby. Dr. Roark loves that her patients let her share in their experience. It doesn’t feel like a job to her; it’s truly her pleasure.
