Sanford Wellness Center’s recent expansion has allowed us to give you an impressive facility with classes and amenities, creating the premier wellness center in the area. Being affiliated with a medical provider gives our members access to more trusted, reputable resources for health-related solutions than anywhere else in the region.

Sanford Health Thief River Falls Wellness Center offers 24/7 access to all facility amenities. The facility offers cardiovascular machines, strength equipment, free weights, personal training, gymnastic and ninja warrior classes for kids, open gym for kids and group classes for every age and level of fitness. Wellness Center members may be eligible for health insurance discounts.

Group Exercise Classes

Cardio Kickboxing

Cardio kickboxing is a group fitness class that combines martial arts techniques with cardio. This workout challenges the beginner and elite athlete alike. Build stamina, improve coordination and flexibility, and burn calories as you build lean muscle with this fun and challenging workout.


A well-rounded class that hits both cardio and full-body strength training. This class is set at low to moderate speed. A variety of equipment is used for this class.

Chair Yoga

Enhance range of motion, stretching and relaxation movements through basic yoga-like techniques.

Circuit Training

An efficient and challenging form of conditioning which develops strength, endurance, flexibility, and coordination utilizing a variety of exercises and workout stations.

Core Flow Yoga

Core Flow is a vinyasa style class that focuses on connecting breath to movement. This class uses yoga asana (poses) that focuses on building core strength and awareness while also connecting to yourself. Music/sound is incorporated into the class and gently aromatherapy will be used. This is a great intermediate yoga class for athletes.


Cycle is a group indoor cycling workout where you control the intensity and ride to powerful music. In this class, you will be on a journey of hill climbs, sprints, and flat riding, designed to help you burn calories.

An action-packed workout that combines a series of punching and kicking combinations. This class improves strength, muscle tone and endurance.


The basic method of “mat-based” core training which includes abdominal, back and hip muscles with additional muscle conditioning work.


Get ready to work all the major muscle groups using the barbell. Open to all fitness levels as you can choose the weight you want to work with, even if it's just the barbell. It's got great music to inspire to get the results you want and FAST!

Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga relieves the effects of stress through deep rest and relaxation. Relaxation is attained when there is no movement, no effort and the mind is quiet. During this gentle practice we will effortlessly hold poses for longer periods of time with the use of props such as yoga blocks, blankets and bolsters to support the body in a comfortable position while also bringing a gentle awareness to the breath. When the body is relaxed, the mind can relax and tension is released from both the body and the mind.

Silver Sneakers

Silver Sneakers Classic focuses on strengthening muscles and increasing range of movement for daily life activities. Participants can use hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a Silver Sneakers ball. Often a chair is used for seated exercises or standing support.

Strength Circuit

Circuit style class using a wide variety weights and equipment. Come ready for a killer workout!


STRONG by Zumba™ is a high intensity interval training workout. It integrates movements and body weight, creating a high-cardio, total-body workout.

Water Aerobics

Class will focus on cardio, strength training and stretching using natural water resistance and added equipment. This class is low impact, easy on joints and a great core body workout.

Yoga Flow

This Vinyasa style class is a great way to get the body moving, release toxins & calm the mind. Joining physical postures, or asanas, with inhales & exhales, creates a steady internal rhythm; building heat, endurance, flexibility, strength & focus. Link between breath and movement through sun salutations and postures. Vinyasa is best if you are physically active, comfortable with basic poses, and appreciate a healthy sweat.

Zumba Glow

Zumba is choreographed routines that incorporate interval training — alternating fast and slow rhythms — to help improve cardiovascular fitness.
