Clinical Decision-Making for Spoken Expression and Auditory Comprehension in Aphasia
This event provides education opportunities for Speech-Language Pathologists to enhance their knowledge of clinical decision-making for spoken expression and auditory comprehension in patients with aphasia.
Event objectives:
- Identify assessment tools that can be used to examine spoken expression and auditory comprehension skills in aphasia
- Identify treatment approaches that address spoken expression and auditory comprehension
- Describe how a Life Participation Approach can be utilized to treat spoken expression and auditory comprehension in aphasia treatment
The speaker will be Brett McCardel, MS, CCC-SLP, the owner and founder of Archways - Aphasia Rehabilitation Services, a private practice based in Seattle, WA that specializes in providing speech and language services to people with aphasia. He has worked with people with aphasia across the continuum of care and across a variety of service-delivery models (including telehealth and intensive aphasia programs). He is passionate about aphasia advocacy and promoting a Life Participation Approach to Aphasia.
This event offers an in-person option at the Sanford East Interstate Ave Clinic and a virtual option through Zoom.
