NEW Sioux Valley Clinic Acute Care Location at 41st Sertoma

Sioux Valley Clinic will open a new west-side Acute Care location on Monday, May 1, 2006. Sioux Valley Clinic – Acute Care 41st & Sertoma will offer convenient and quality after-hours care for Sioux Falls residents.

Sioux Valley Clinic-Acute Care 41st & Sertoma will be open Monday thru Friday from 5-9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. The new Acute Care clinic is located in the current location of Sioux Valley Clinic-Family Medicine 41st & Sertoma which is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday.

"With a family medicine clinic, acute care clinic and pharmacy all in one area, the new 41st & Sertoma location provides patients the best in convenient health care," says Tony Tiefenthaler, Vice President of Sioux Valley Clinic.

Acute care clinics commonly see patients for ailments such as: puncture wounds, foreign body in eye(s), lacerations (bad cuts), bee or other insect bites, minor burns, Worker’s Comp injuries, ear infections, high fevers, respiratory problems (bronchitis), sore throat (Strep throat), allergic reactions (bad rashes), bladder infections, and strains or sprains from work or sports injuries.

This addition gives patients four Sioux Valley Clinic-Acute Care locations in Sioux Falls. Other locations include: 69th & Minnesota, 26th & Sycamore, and 34th & Kiwanis.

Dr. Lornell E. Hansen, II, who has worked in Family Medicine for the last 10 years, will be one of the Sioux Valley Clinic physicians providing care at the new Acute Care location. Dr. Hansen received his medical degree from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine in 1994. He completed his Sioux Falls Family Practice Residency program in 1997 and was certified by the American Board of Family Practice in 2001.
