More than 300 Sanford employees, families and friends gathered for the 2010 Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRF) Sioux Falls Walk to Cure Diabetes in January. They were part of 2,300 walkers at the Empire Mall who helped the local JDRF chapter raise roughly $213,000 this year. Sanford walkers raised more than $17,000. Funds from the event will support research and research related education.

Sanford Health served as a presenting partner of this year’s JDRF Sioux Falls Walk to Cure Diabetes. JDRF’s mission is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Sanford Health and JDRF are working collaboratively to find a cure for type 1 diabetes.
