Surgical Associates recently received recertification as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence.
(Sioux Falls, SD) –The Bariatric Program at Sanford USD Medical Center along with surgeons Peter O'Brien, MD, FACS, Dennis Glatt, MD, FACS and Donald Graham, MD, FACS of Sanford Clinic Surgical Associates recently received recertification as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence® by the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and Surgical Review Corporation (SRC).
In order to receive the three-year recertification, the program and physicians must undergo a site inspection which includes review of the program's surgical processes and patient outcomes. The designation is indicative of the center's commitment to a high level of bariatric care. The Sanford Bariatric Program and physicians have been certified by the ASMBS and SRC since 2005.
