News conference at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009. MeritCare to discuss the current health care reform legislation. The bill in the Senate is entitled "The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act H.R. 3590".
- We will review how this legislation impacts N.D. and specifically the frontier state strategy amendment.
- We also want to thank our congressional delegation (Sen. Kent Conrad, Sen. Byron Dorgan and Congressman Earl Pomeroy) for including a provision which levels the playing field in Medicare Reimbursement for North Dakota. Without this parity in Medicare, we would not be able to survive the impending cuts as part of health care reform.
A news conference will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, to outline the impact of the legislation on North Dakota and the benefit to citizens across the state. Spokespeople will be MeritCare president emeritus, Dr. Roger Gilbertson and MeritCare Public Policy expert, Bev Adams.
