North Dakota State University (NDSU) is hosting a dance marathon for its students to raise money and celebrate its fundraising efforts for the local Children's Miracle Network (CMN) Hospital: MeritCare Children's Hospital. The event will be held Saturday, Dec. 5, at 1 p.m. and will go until Sunday, Dec. 6, at 1 a.m. at the NDSU Bentson/Bunker Fieldhouse.
The dance includes live music, games, prizes, food and fun. This year's goal is to raise $15,000.
Families from the region who have benefited from the money raised will participate and share their stories.
Started nationally in 1994, dance marathon is a student-run event on college and university campuses that helps raise money for CMN children's hospitals. NDSU is one of 90 locations in the nation to participate.
MeritCare Children's Hospital is the only children's hospital in North Dakota, northwest Minnesota and northeast South Dakota.
