Local Little Heroes Support MeritCare Childrens Hospital

On Thursday, Aug. 13, Dairy Queen® is hosting the fourth annual North American "Miracle Treat Day," with $1 or more of proceeds from every Blizzard® sold being donated to Children's Miracle Network – a nonprofit organization that raises money for children's hospitals. And two local heroes want to help out: 8-year-old Signe Harris and 9-year-old Matt Garberg.

Both of the "little heroes" have overcome obstacles and want to give back to MeritCare Children's Hospital. Signe was diagnosed with cancer and Matt, ND's 2009 CMN champion, was born premature – both received care at MeritCare Children's Hospital, Fargo – the Children's Miracle Network hospital for our region.

Last year, Dairy Queen across the region raised more than $60,000 for MeritCare Children's Hospital. Since 1984, Dairy Queen has raised more than $77 million for Children's Miracle Network hospitals across the country – making it one of the top five contributors to the charity.
