(Sioux Falls, SD) – Pediatric healthcare in the Duncan, OK area will soon expand. The new Sanford Children’s Clinic Duncan will open August 3 and bring the community its pediatricians. To celebrate the opening, Sanford Children’s Clinic Duncan held a grand opening community celebration on July 14.
The event included tours of the new children’s clinic guided by clinic staff, inflatables and kids’ activities, entertainment provided by local renaissance club Society for Creative Anarchism and a Hailey Steele acoustic concert. Hailey Steele is a rising country artist from South Dakota. Hailey and her band have opened for superstars like SugarLand, Sara Evans and Big and Rich.
"This new clinic in Duncan is a beautiful facility, and we are thrilled to welcome many from the Duncan area during this celebration,” said Becky Nelson, Sanford Health Sr. Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “In just over two weeks, Duncan, Oklahoma will have its pediatricians, and children in this area will have more pediatric care closer to home.”
Sanford Children’s Clinic Duncan is the first Sanford World Clinic, which is part of initiatives outlined after a $400 million donation from Denny Sanford in 2007. Sanford Children’s Clinic Duncan is designed like a castle, emulating the design of the Sanford Children’s Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
When it opens, the clinic will be staffed by pediatrician Deena Wise, DO as well as other staff members. The 8,000-square foot facility includes 12 exam rooms, a procedure room as well as full lab and x-ray. It will be open Monday - Friday from 8 am – 5 pm.
