Centennial Celebrates Pioneering the Practice of Medicine
In 1905 founders Dr. Olaf Sand and Dr. Nils Tronnes laid the groundwork for what would become St. Luke's Hospital because they shared a vision for better health care. Even more, they exemplified what it means to pioneer the practice of medicine. As pioneers, they recognized a need, championed a better way and then collaborated with others to achieve it. The result? MeritCare's 100-year history, which reflects the dedication of generations of pioneering physicians.
