, MD to distribute educational books to regional elementary schools.
This October, more than 200 schools and public libraries in South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa will receive two copies of I Can Go to the Hospital
and The Big Deal
for free. These fun, factual and curriculum-based books are for young readers who will grow up to be everything from doctors, lawyers and CEOs and your neighbor next door.
"The hospital can be a confusing place for a child. I Can Go to the Hospital explains to children what they may see in a hospital and what a trip to a hospital is all about, says Dr. LeeBurton. The Big Deal takes a look at obesity in children and the importance of eating healthy and exercise.
Sanford Childrens and Dr. LeeBurton share three core beliefs: readers make the world a better place, great readers start early, and the best way to engage a young reader is by making great books available to him or her. In 2006, Sanford Childrens and Dr. LeeBurton distributed the books, I Can Be a Nurse and I Can Be a Doctor to the same facilities.
