Sanford Children’s Hospital, a part of Sanford Health, is pleased to announce that it will partner again with Timothy LeeBurton, MD to distribute educational books to regional elementary schools.

This October, more than 200 schools and public libraries in South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa will receive two copies of I Can Go to the Hospital and The Big Deal for free. These fun, factual and curriculum-based books are for young readers who will grow up to be everything from doctors, lawyers and CEOs and your neighbor next door.

"The hospital can be a confusing place for a child. I Can Go to the Hospital explains to children what they may see in a hospital and what a trip to a hospital is all about,” says Dr. LeeBurton. The Big Deal takes a look at obesity in children and the importance of eating healthy and exercise.”

Sanford Children’s and Dr. LeeBurton share three core beliefs: readers make the world a better place, great readers start early, and the best way to engage a young reader is by making great books available to him or her. In 2006, Sanford Children’s and Dr. LeeBurton distributed the books, I Can Be a Nurse and I Can Be a Doctor to the same facilities.
