Chad McManus, Maintenance Technician at Sanford Mid-Dakota Care Center in Chamberlain, SD, was selected to receive the 2007 Electric Supply Company Award. This premier award recognizes the Sanford Health Network Employee of the Year who exemplifies outstanding employee performance. McManus was given the award at a surprise presentation at Sanford Mid-Dakota Care Center in Chamberlain, SD on May 15, 2007.
Peers from Sanford Health Network member facilities across the region submit nominations of staff from their facilities they deem deserving of the annual award. McManus was chosen from over 1,700 Sanford Health Network employees eligible to receive the award in 2007.
Comments received in the nominations describe McManus dedication to the facility, stating, Chad fulfills his job responsibility in a manner that exceeds expectation. He is the glue that keeps this building, its residents and the staff together. In addition he displays a genuine concern and compassion for the resident that is heartwarming to watch.

He provides service excellence in all he does, from the tasks in maintenance to his relationships with residents. As a self-starting, highly motivated individual, he is one of the most valued and respected members of the Sanford Mid-Dakota Care Center team.
The Electric Supply Company Award was established through Sanford Health Foundation to recognize an outstanding employee at a Sanford Health Network facility each year. The award winner must exemplify all of Sanfords Employee Standards of Behavior criteria. These standards include the pursuit of Service Excellence, exceeding patient and co-worker expectations, providing holistic and compassionate care, ensuring a safe and secure environment, and setting an example of utmost privacy and confidentiality. In addition, the person selected must also demonstrate courtesy and respect, possess the ability to create a self-motivating environment, and recognize and prepare for future needs of the organization, community and region.
McManus was presented with a plaque and monetary award at a recognition ceremony. The award is provided by the Sanford Health Foundation thanks to a generous contribution from the Electric Supply Company of Sioux Falls, SD.
