Child Seat Program Helps Parents Learn Proper Child Seat Use and Installation

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), most children need to ride in a car seat until they are at least 8 years old.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), most children need to ride in a car seat until they are at least 8 years old. At 8 years, most children are the appropriate height and weight (4’9’’ and more than 80 pounds) to safely ride in a seatbelt.

On April 28, 2007, Project 8, Lithia Dodge and the Sioux Falls Safe Kids Coalition program invites parents and guardians to the Car Seat Check Event. Car seat technicians will teach parents about proper car seat use and installation:

Project 8, a state funded program, was launched in the Fall of 2005 to help educate parents and guardians about proper use and installation of car seats.
