Sioux Valley Clinic Physician Honored by National Organization

Dr. Jeffrey A. Murray, a physician with Sioux Valley Clinic – Gastroenterology, was recently awarded an Outstanding Service Award by the American College of Gastroenterology Board of Governors.

Dr. Jeffrey A. Murray, a physician with Sioux Valley Clinic – Gastroenterology, was recently awarded an Outstanding Service Award by the American College of Gastroenterology Board of Governors. The Award was distributed during a meeting on October 22, 2006 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dr. Murray, FACG, who is Governor for the American College of Gastroenterology for South Dakota, was recognized for his extensive efforts in colon cancer screening awareness and also for his diligent work with managed care organizations on behalf of gastroenterology in the state of South Dakota. Dr. Murray was one of only five physicians from around the country who were honored with the Outstanding Service Award by the American College of Gastroenterology Board of Governors.

The American College of Gastroenterology includes gastroenterologists, surgeons, radiologists, hepatologists, pediatricians, pathologists and others with a shared interest in the care of patients with digestive diseases. The College promotes the highest standards in medical education and is guided by its commitment to meeting the needs of clinical gastroenterology practitioners. More than 9,000 physicians from 75 countries are members of the ACG.


Dr. Jeffrey A. Murray received his medical degree from the University of South Dakota, Vermillion, in 1982. He completed his residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa, in Gastroenterology. Dr. Murray is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Board Certified Diplomate in the subspecialty of Gastroenterology-Hepatology. He currently practices at Sioux Valley Clinic – Gastroenterology in Medical Building 3 on the Sioux Valley Hospital Campus.
