MeritCares Sean McDonald Named North Dakota Physicians Assistant of the Year
Sean works closely with Dr. Gary Matthys who nominated him on behalf of his coworkers. In his nomination letter Dr. Matthys said:
"I consider Sean McDonald a valuable asset to my practice. Because of Sean, I am able to work more efficiently and he provides a stimulus for my own learning. He has become part of an orthopedic team here at MeritCare and I rely on him as much as my patients do. I am also impressed with Sean's desire to become more knowledgeable as he becomes more experienced as a physician assistant.
Sean is a very fast learner. He is able to explain complex medical problems in understandable terms. Many of my patients compliment me on his bedside manner and thoroughness. He is an invaluable asset in preoperative teaching and in explaining surgical procedures.
Sean is well liked by his co-workers. He is respectful and known for his kindness and ability to get along with others. His work ethic is unparalleled. He does not complain nor does he try to find shortcuts. His workweek and hours are more extensive than others, but he would not have it any other way. He is an exceptionally hard worker and efficient at his task. Sean is the type of person that doctors try to keep involved with their practice until they retire."
