Over 200 community volunteers are busy with the finishing touches for the 21st annual Festival of Wreaths, which will take place Thursday, Nov. 17 through Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Ramada Plaza Suites Crystal Ballroom, Fargo.
Over 200 community volunteers are busy with the finishing touches for the 21st annual Festival of Wreaths, which will take place Thursday, Nov. 17 through Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Ramada Plaza Suites Crystal Ballroom, Fargo. Two new events have been added: on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m., a Your Home for the Holiday event will show the basics of the throwing a great holiday party, from decorating to food: and on Friday, Nov. 18 at 11:30 a.m., motivational speaker Robin Silverman will speak about "Being a Gift" during the Festival Luncheon. Other events include shopping; a casual party with music by The Shakers; breakfast and lunch events with Santa; and an elegant, formal gala. Proceeds from this year's event will benefit MeritCare Eating Disorders Unit aftercare programs.
All Festival of Wreath activities are open to the public. Reservations are required for some activities. Following is the line-up of events:
- Your Home for the Holiday, Thursday, 7 p.m.
Tickets: $20 in advance; $25 at the door.
Learn how to throw the party of the season. This event features a holiday wear style show, flair bartending, tips for the perfect menu and decorating.
- Open House Shopping Extravaganza, Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tickets: $3 adults; $1 children age 10 and under.
Features nine specialty shopping areas: Gingerbread Lane – gingerbread houses created by local chefs, artists and children. Timeless Treasures Boutique – assortment of decorations and other holiday-related items. 12 Days of Christmas – bid on gift packages via the silent auction. An Affair to Remember – bid on unique dinners and parties, special menus created by area cooks and served in some of the most beautiful houses in Fargo-Moorhead. Tiny Timbers – miniature trees decorated by volunteers. Santa's Treat Shoppe – tasty treats including infamous gingerbread cookies. O Christmas Tree – bid on trees specially decorated for this event. Deck the Halls – bid on magnificent wreaths…the signature items. Holiday Gallery – bid on unique handcrafted holiday items via the silent auction.

Tickets: $20, reservations required.

- Dazzle to Denims Party, Friday, 8 p.m.-12:30 a.m.
Tickets: $15 in advance; $20 at the door.
This casual party features music by The Shakers. Also enjoy beer tasting, shopping or take part in the silent auction.
- Breakfast or Pizza with Santa, Saturday, 9 a.m. or 12:30 p.m.
Tickets: $12 adults, $10 children 10 and under. Reservations required.
Entertainment, pictures with Santa and all children will receive a gift.
- Gala, Saturday, 6 p.m.
Tickets $90 per person; reservations required.
An elegant, formal event; includes gourmet dinner and a silent and live auction.
