Are you less active than you would like to be because of shortness of breath?
Individuals who have lung disease and shortness of breathe often times find it difficult to breathe while walking, climbing stairs, or just doing normal daily activities.

If this describes you, what are the benefits of a Pulmonary Rehab program?
Our pulmonary program includes exercise, breathing training, nutrition counseling, and education helping you to remain active and to better cope with lung disease.

How is my personal program developed?
A team of health care professionals working together with you in developing a program based on your personal needs.

Does insurance help pay for my Pulmonary Rehab program?
Pulmonary rehab is a physician supported program which is often reimbursed in part by Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance.

When are Pulmonary Rehab classes held?
This is a four week program held on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s.

What opportunities do I have once my Pulmonary Rehab program is finished?
Pulmonary rehab offers maintenance exercise classes at the Sanford Wellness center.

Pulmonary Maintenance Class

What type of exercise is incorporated into a Pulmonary Maintenance class?
Group stretching and strengthening led by a respiratory therapist followed by monitored workout sessions in the conditioning center. Our respiratory therapists help monitor your oxygen saturation and heart rate. Oxygen is available should you need it.

What kind of exercise equipment might I use?
Treadmills, stationary bikes, Nu Steps, walking track and a variety of weight machines.

When are classes offered?
Monday-Wednesday-Friday 
- Classroom A - 8:00 am & 12:30 pm 
Tuesday-Thursday
- Classroom A - 10:30 am & 12:30 pm
