Surgical Suites - The Best of the Best

Surgeons at the Sanford Surgical Tower have technology on their side. With larger, well-equipped operating rooms and improved access to technology, surgeons are able to perform surgical procedures more efficiently, ultimately creating better patient outcomes.

The sophistication of Sanford’s surgical suites is unparalleled. Some institutions across the country provide access to select components of this design and technology, but no others have brought together the art and science of surgery in this way to create the best possible setting for surgeons and patients.

  • A computerized tracking system for surgical instruments ensuring patient safety and staff efficiency.

  • 14 600-square foot surgical suites allow for increased imaging technology and innovative procedures such as robotic-assisted surgery.

  • All 14 surgical suites are equipped to handle minimally invasive and standard surgery. This allows for maximum flexibility in patient scheduling and availability.

  • Special green filtered lighting in the surgical suites allows for minimal lighting for minimally invasive procedures. This is a safety feature for surgical staff needing to move about the room during a procedure.

  • Each surgical suite has boom mounted flat screen monitors mounted so they can be positioned to provide the best viewing angle for the surgical team.

  • Voice activated commands for lights, equipment and cameras in the surgical suite keep all staff focused on patient care.

  • Each surgical suite is equipped to allow teaching of medical students and consulting physicians during the procedure through audio and visual technology.
