Vascular Screen

Vascular Screen (appointment necessary) The Vascular Screen is a group of non-invasive ultrasound tests designed to evaluate the blood vessels in the neck, legs and abdomen. Risk Factors for Vascular Disease Family History Smoking Heart Disease High Blood Pressure Diabetes Over 55 years of age Vascular Screen Includes Carotid Artery Ultrasound – Assesses the carotid artery in the neck. Fatty deposits or plaque may prevent blood flow to the brain resulting in stroke. Ankle Brachial Index – Assesses the circulation of the leg arteries by measuring the blood pressures on both arms and at the level of both ankles. Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm – Assesses aorta for weakness or bulge. Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms are caused by a weakening or damage in the wall of the abdominal aorta. Interpretation by a credentialed Vascular Specialist. Results will be sent to home.
