NCI Community Cancer Centers Program (NCCCP)
Sanford Cancer Center was selected as an NCI Community Cancer Centers Program (NCCCP) site from the beginning of the program in 2007 and was one of only 14 sites across the Unites States to be continually selected through the end of the program in 2014. As an NCCCP site, Sanford Cancer was in a public-private partnership with the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to help redefine healthcare. During the seven years of the NCCCP, Sanford Cancer Center helped lead the rapid delivery of the latest evidence-based care and research to our region and the nation.
As a NCCCP partner site, we were focused on providing advanced, state-of-the-art, research-based cancer care closer to home and unlocking access to care for disparate population groups like Native Americans, Immigrants and Refugees and rural residents.
The National Cancer Institute ended the NCCCP program in 2014 and implemented NCORP. Sanford Cancer Center is one of 34 community sites once again selected by the NCI for NCORP.
