One of Sanford Children’s many sub specialties is Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. Children have access to specialists in fracture care, pediatric spine and other musculoskeletal conditions unique in growing kids. Sanford also provides your child access to many Wellness and Sport Specific programs designed to get kids active, maximize athletic performance and most importantly to participate safely. We partner with the YMCA for many of our fitness programs. The National Institute for Athletic Health and Performance at Sanford focuses on Nutrition/Hydration, sweat loss and body mechanic research that aid in injury prevention and performance improvement. The Institute partners with sport and sports medicine national governing bodies to develop new guidelines and policies for safety, training and sports participation.
Keeping kids active is an important part of helping them to grow strong and healthy. Despite the challenges, when you find what motivates your child and his or her athletic personality, you’ll be on track to a lifetime of fitness.Learn More
