Participants will learn the ABCs of CPR, how to manage airway obstruction and will receive an American Heart Association participation card. Classes are held twice a month with one evening class from 6-8 p.m. and a Saturday class from 9 a.m. - 1 a.m. The exception is there is only an evening class offered in June, July, August and December. New parents delivering at Sanford may attend at no charge. Classes are subject to availability.
Taking care of so many children is a lot of responsibility and requires a strong foundation on knowledge concerning safety. In this class, participants discuss toy safety, proper cleaning techniques, and food and car seat safety. This course also illustrates child abuse and neglect and describes the role of the child care provider. Keeping everyone healthy and safe means more time for playing! NEED TO TAKE 8A AND 8B THE FDC CORE SERIES
Family & Friends CPR - Adult class taught by American Heart Association CPR instructors.The class includes safety, accident prevention, choking, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for Adults. This is not a certification course.

Sanford is now offering a two and a half hour educational class for parents expecting a baby. This class will cover questions from the hospital
to delivery. We will focus on labor and what you can expect. The class is open to anyone, free to those delivering at Sanford.
Suggested time to take the class is during your 7th to 9th month of Pregnancy.

Sanford offers drug and alcohol awareness training for supervisors.This program provides excellent information on substance abuse detection in the workplace that is valuable to supervisors in any organization. Registration is required.

Join us at the Sanford Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for Hospitals in Crisis 2. Using the perspectives of the sending hospital, EMS agencies and receiving hospital, “Hospitals in Crisis 2” will take the participant through the hospital evacuation process from the minute an event hits, to the time the patient is safely relocated to the receiving facility.
