This class is for anyone scheduled to have Total Hip or Total Knee Surgery at Sanford Hospital.
Nurture your baby. Bond with other breastfeeding moms. Connect with an expert lactation consultant.
Participants will learn the ABCs of CPR, how to manage airway obstruction and will receive an American Heart Association participation card. Classes are held twice a month with one evening class from 6-8 p.m. and a Saturday class from 9 a.m. - 1 a.m. The exception is there is only an evening class offered in June, July, August and December. New parents delivering at Sanford may attend at no charge. Classes are subject to availability.
Family & Friends CPR - Adult class taught by American Heart Association CPR instructors.The class includes safety, accident prevention, choking, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for Adults. This is not a certification course.
Weekly discussion group for new moms and their babies meets every Thursday.

This one day certification course follows 2010 AHA PALS guidelines in the renewal course for healthcare providers focusing on assessment and intervention skills.

Statistically four out of five car seats are installed incorrectly. Every Thursday of each month Safe Kids Fargo/Moorhead conducts Car Seat Check Up Events at The Safety Shoppe from 1:45-4:45 p.m. Trained technicians will be available to assist parents, grandparents, and caregivers with using their car seats correctly. They also distribute educational materials and safety devices such as bike helmets for a $10 donation (and they make sure they fit properly).
This class will assist you and your partner in understanding the breastfeeding process and the benefits to both Mom and baby. We recommend that you take this class between your 32nd and 34th week of pregnancy. This class is included as one of the sessions of the 8 week series and the 6 week series.
This class will cover early parenting skills, safety, bathing, diapering, adapting to change; all things you will need to know to care for your newborn. This class is intended for first time parents. Classes are three times a month, usually an evening class from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. and occasionally a Saturday afternoon from 12:30- 2:30 p.m. Classes are subject to availability.
