A COG Soft Tissue Sarcoma Biology and Banking Protocol

As part of regular treatment for Soft Tissue Sarcoma, doctors will remove some tumor tissue, draw some blood, and may take some bone marrow samples. Using these specimens, a doctor can learn more about the type of sarcoma that a patient has. The results of these tests are used to plan a patient¿s care. One goal of this study is to be sure that the patient is treated on the correct COG RMS or NRSTS treatment study. Another goal is to collect soft tissue sarcoma specimens to learn more about RMS and NRSTS, and the blood, serum, and bone marrow of people with these tumors. A final goal is to collect specimens for the COG soft tissue sarcoma tissue bank for future research.
