Sanford Childrens to Host 3rd Annual Results Radio Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon

Local Heroes to be Featured

(Sioux Falls, SD) – Histiocytosis, neuroblastoma, acute lymphoblastic leukemia: they’re awfully big words for little people and even bigger battles to fight. But, that hasn’t stopped the dozens of children from Sioux Falls and surrounding communities who are winning their fight against cancer.

Helping kids beat cancer is why Sanford Children’s Hospital and Results Radio are teaming up once again for the 3rd Annual Results Radio Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon.

During a 36 hour radiothon event March 24 – March 26, hosts from Results Radio will be live on the air from the Carlson Great Hall of the Sanford Children’s Hospital in Sioux Falls. The hosts for 2010 include Ben & Patty from MIX 97.3, Dan Collins & Mickey Lee from KIKN Country 100.5, Crash from B102.7, Chad McKenzie from KSOO 1140, and Jeff Harkness from KDEZ 100.1.

The mission of Cure Kids Cancer is to help children’s cancer centers, like the one at Sanford Children’s, find live-saving treatments and eventually cures for children’s cancer by raising funds and awareness. Sanford Children’s Hospital is one of more than 170 Cure Kids Cancer children’s hospitals across the country and serves as South Dakota’s only member in the National Cancer Institute sponsored Children’s Oncology Group (COG).

Last year’s event raised more than $180,000. All monies raised during the three day event go directly to programs and services for Sanford Children’s pediatric cancer patients and families.

Tune in March 24 – 26, from 6 a.m. – 6p.m. Listen to the radiothon online on MIX 97.3, KIKN Country 100.5 and B102.7 or watch it live online.
