Sanford Center for Screening

Get your heart screened at the Sanford Center for Screening – Fargo. We offer convenient and effective means to identify and monitor your risk of heart disease. Our advanced tools and diagnostics will help you get to know your heart health and make simple lifestyle changes to lower your risk.

Consider getting a heart screening if you meet any of these risk factors:

  • Diabetes
  • Family history of heart disease
  • High blood pressure
  • High cholesterol
  • History of smoking or are currently a smoker
  • Obesity
  • Postmenopausal women

According to the American Heart Association, many first-ever heart attacks are fatal or disabling. Prevention is critical. The more risk factors you have, the higher your chance of developing heart disease or stroke. Decide if a heart screening is right for you based on your health and history.

Your heart screening may include:

  • Blood pressure test
  • Body Mass Index (BMI)
  • Cholesterol test
  • CT scan
  • EKG
  • Exercise assessment or nutritional assessment
  • Framingham Risk Score

The center also offers vascular screenings. These screenings check for buildups, blockages or aneurysms in your veins. Vascular screenings don’t require a blood draw or exercise assessment. Most vascular tests use ultrasounds to screen for abnormalities or signs of blockages. The same risk factors for heart disease affect your risk of vascular disease.

Heart or vascular screening appointments take only about 60 minutes. We also offer lung screenings by physician referral.
