Sanford Bemidji Infusion Pharmacy
The Sanford Bemidji Infusion Pharmacy provides a full range of pharmaceutical infusion services and therapies; either in the comfort of the patient’s home or on-site within the Sanford Bemidji Joe Lueken Cancer Center.
Infusion therapy administers medication, such as antibiotics and chemotherapy, through a vein with an IV line. Patients use small, portable pumps to dispense the medication. This type of care makes it possible for patients to continue daily activities while receiving medicine at home – decreasing time spent in clinics, hospitals and nursing homes.
The Sanford Bemidji Infusion Pharmacy provides specialized medications through infusion, including:
- Antibiotics
- Antifungal medications
- Chemotherapy
- Hydration therapies
- Pain management medications
- Immune therapies
- Parenteral therapies
- Durable medical equipment will also be available on-site
Patients will work collaboratively with a licensed infusion pharmacist on their care plan, including education for the patient and caregiver. Pharmacists will also work with the patient’s physician to monitor the care plan ensuring the best possible outcome.
A pharmacist is on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for patients currently receiving home infusion services from Sanford Health.
