Dr. Hurley's practice has a strong emphasis in phlebology (vein disease, treating varicose veins and evaluating limb pain and swelling). He has extensive training and experience in the following modalities of treating vein disease: sclerotherapy and intravenous catheter ablation procedures including VNUS and laser. Dr. Hurley is registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in which he is a registered physician in Vascular Interpretation. He has hospital and clinic vascular lab interpretation privileges and has training and experience in interpreting non-invasive vascular ultrasound studies.
Early symptoms of vein disease may seem minor; however, they can become more serious if left untreated. Symptoms of vein diesease include aching pain, easily tired legs, leg heaviness, swelling, darkening of skin (in severe cases), numbness, itching or rash on legs.
