My goal as a midwife is to partner with women in their healthcare, inform them of their options, and support them in their choice as competent decision-makers. I recognize pregnancy as a normal and healthy process unless proven otherwise. My favorite areas of practice include water births, herbs and minerals, preventative health, first time parents, and working with adoptions.
I was inspired to become a midwife after watching a local MN midwife attend a water birth. The woman in labor was so peaceful and in control. It was beautiful and awe-inspiring to observe the strength of the woman as she birthed her baby and to see the overwhelming love in the room as a new family was formed. I continue to feel absolutely honored to be present at each and every birth that I attend.
I live in Alexandria with my husband Sig, our 1-year-old daughter Samantha, and two cats.
I enjoy drinking tea, gardening, soaking in the sunshine, and traveling with my husband.
