Inpatient Pediatrics- ages ranging from newborn to 21 years of age as defined by the ND State Board of Nursing.
My goal as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) is to provide patient and family centered, holistic and culturally sensitive care to patients utilizing an interdisciplinary team approach. I recognize discharge planning is as equally important as treatment management and will include a teaching approach involving the PNP, the child/family and all members of the patient’s health care team as this will ensure children and families understand all aspects of their condition and treatment upon discharge.
I am an advocate for children and want to empower my patients and their families to participate in their health care while I attempt to alleviate as much stress as possible during the hospital stay and make their experience a positive one.
Before graduating with my PNP degree I worked as a nurse in various pediatric settings including, home care, inpatient pediatrics and the neonatal intensive care unit.
My scholarly project focused on the chronic health care needs associated with Cystic Fibrosis in the pediatric patient.
