Chelsea was born in Rochester, MN and spent much of her free time involved in sports including gymnastics, swimming, and diving. She decided to pursue swimming at a collegiate level while attending a college noted for its strong nursing program. She swam all four years of undergrad at SDSU in Brookings from 2004-2008 and was captain for 2 out of 4 of the years. After graduation, she accepted a job at Sanford in the ICU. She worked in the ICU for two years before deciding it was time to go back to school to pursue a degree as a nurse practitioner. She attended grad school through the University of Cincinnati and was able to do this online so she could continue to work at Sanford and be near friends and family from 2010 -2012. While in school, she worked at Sanford Gastroenterology and Sanford Acute Care as an RN. Upon completing her Master's and passing boards, she started working back at Sanford Gastroenterology as a CNP. She is certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner's in family practice.
