A Specialist in Genetic Counseling
Rebecca helps families to understand the role genetics play in inheritable disease. She will explore what factors may increase the risk for disease and also what testing may be helpful to reduce the risk for your family to develop certain conditions. Rebecca will assess your family history. From there, she will spend time educating you about the inheritance, testing, management, prevention, resources, and research. Rebecca also provides support and counseling to help you and your family understand the medical, psychological and familial effects of genetic testing and disease.
Rebecca also serves as assistant director of the Augustana/Sanford Genetic Counseling Program and as a clinical instructor for the University of South Dakota Medical School.
