Labor Skills Workshop
NOTICE: Sanford Women's is committed to providing a safe environment for you to enjoy our classes. In order to do that, the following measures are being taken:
- Screening patients again upon entering the classroom
- Providing masks (as needed) to attendees who aren't able to bring their own
- Allowing ample time between classes to properly sanitize the room and equipment
- Continuing to offer online options for patients who are unable or uncomfortable attending an in-person class
This workshop offers hands-on practice in pain management for labor and delivery. This information can also be found in the Birthing with Confidence three-week series. Learn positions for comfort and for pushing. Practice imagery, aromatherapy and relaxation.
When is the class? Typically held the 4th Thursday of the month from 6:30 - 9 p.m.
Who attends? Moms and their support person are all encouraged to attend. The knowledge and support of those around the mother and child significantly impact the success and satisfaction of the birthing process.
When should moms plan to attend during their pregnancy? Ideally, towards the end of your pregnancy but any time after 28 weeks is preferable.
What do I bring? Something to write with and a small snack or beverage, if desired. The majority of the class will be spent practicing labor positions so dress in clothes that allow you to squat, bend, and get on the floor.
