Healthy Moms for Healthy Babies
The "Healthy Moms for Healthy Babies" series focuses on giving you the tools to develop a healthy lifestyle now, and to commit to lifelong changes.
In our Prenatal Nutrition course, a childbirth educator provides education on properly balanced nutrition (including key vitamins and minerals) to support a healthy pregnancy, the importance of sleep, foods to substances to avoid during pregnancy, guidelines surrounding proper weight gain trimester by trimester, as well as how to transition to a postpartum diet to support maternal recovery and breastfeeding.
Expecting and preparing for a new baby can be exciting, but it can also bring a lot of stress and anxiety for expectant parents. Moms can do a lot of natural, simple things to manage this stress and anxiety during this time. Join us in our Stress & Anxiety Management session to learn more about these management strategies, as well as what you can do if you feel you can’t manage your stress and anxiety on your own.
Our Prenatal Yoga class focuses on breathing and safe sequences which can help ease labor and delivery. A certified prenatal yoga instructor takes you through a basic routine. Our prenatal structure encourages movement into optimal birthing positioning, as well as strengthening and softening the pelvic floor to make for a safe labor, and works muscles that mom needs in the early stages after baby arrives. Our yoga class ends with a deep guided relaxation to help restore the body at this changing time.
Prenatal Nutrition classes offered quarterly, the first Sunday of every three months.
Stress & Anxiety Management classes offered the second Sunday of every three months from 2:30-3:30 p.m.
