Coping with Parkinson's disease can be frustrating because of its common symptoms—trembling, stiffness, slow movements, and loss of balance and coordination. Regular exercise can help decrease the symptoms and improve patients’ independence. Sanford Bemidji is offering an exercise class based on techniques specifically developed for individuals with Parkinson’s disease.
The class is free and open to anyone with Parkinson’s, to friends and family members, and to anyone interested. It meets the first Tuesday of every month, September through May, from noon to 1 p.m. on the fourth floor (Acute Rehab Gym) of the Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.
